Saturday, Oct. 27 is National Pitbull Awareness Day and St. Hubert’s is celebrating by offering “Pick Your Pit – Pick Your Price” at its shelters in Madison (575 Woodland Ave.) and North Branch (3201 Route 22E).

The center has a number of friendly, affectionate pitbull or “bully breed mix” dogs available for adoption at both locations. On Saturday, Oct. 27 and Sunday, Oct.28, those who chose their new pet from that group will also set their own adoption fees. With the exception of the fee, all normal conditions of adoption apply.

“We have a number of pit bulls and pit bull mixes who are smart, happy companions and real ambassadors for their breed,” said Colleen Harrington, Director of Shelter Operations.

In addition to the “Pick Your Pit, Pick Your Price” special, St. Hubert’s is offering an 8-week course at its renowned Training and Behavior Center in Madison at $99 — half price— for all dogs adopted during October, National Adopt-A-Dog Month.

Dogs available for adoption are vaccinated, de-wormed, micro chipped and spayed/neutered prior to placement. All head out to their new homes with a collar, leash and identification tag as well. The Center’s shelters are open for adoption seven days a week — Sunday-Tuesday, noon-4 p.m. and Wednesday-Saturday from noon to 6 p.m. All of St. Hubert’s pets for adoption can be viewed by visiting sthuberts.org.
